Record breaking attempt, and official report from the admin of the project:

We failed on this project.(I am hoping to get the official topic shut down, so I don't think it will be there much longer.)
a report: we only got around 53 people. from one witness, clearly, this attempt failed.
However, we did have several people who were willing to give it a try! thanks to abcvs, rainyday, and swat-medic.(aswell as DIRK, who kidly gave us the permission to go on with this event.)it failed, but at least we tried, never assume failiure until you try.

this event occured on september the 19th, 6:00 eastern standard time, 2009. we did have permission from DIRK.

This event showed us that we couldn't really make this achievement this easily, but it shows that we can try, no matter the challenge ahead. I really appreciate the help from everyone!
Look at the following page for more credits on people who helped.

note: THE FOLLOWING PEOPLE WERE THINKING REALISTICALLY, ANYTHING GOOD ABOUT THE REPUTATION HERE SHOULD GO TO THESES PEOPLE, ANYTHING BAD YOU HAVE TO COMMENT, ITS MY FAULT, NOT THEIRS. they helped me out a lot, but they did so especially by thinking realistically, I wasn't, and I didn't really listen enough. sorry, guys.

these people all had a good part in organizing this, the fact that it failed by such a large margin was my fault, if any of them had started this, it would have probably succeeded

jim 546 posted that at this time, 53 people were on. thanks!
abcvs kept close watch on our topic, and kept it under control, aswell as closing it as the event passed. thanks!
rainyday was very optimistic about this event, and willingly offfered time, he had a HUGE part in a lot of important things, such as getting permission from DIRK, and reorganizing this project. he also created the public topic title, it really helped to change it.
"Breaking another record on simtropolis: How many users can we get on simtropolis at one time?"
swat_medic did a lot on getting my post-writing skills in order.(LOL, I can be so stupid sometimes.) (thanks, feel free to tell me that in the future. :) )
tv-vcr supported my idea enough to start it early on. thanks!

I noticed a few people put the link on their signature. thanks guys!
Dirk very very kindly gave us permission to go on with this, thanks for your permission and kindness!.

GUYS: even though this idea failed, we can still say we put some time into it.
