People think I'm lucky, I'm not lucky.
My name is Dr.Kyle Skye. I work here at Mercy Hospital in Chicago. And thats where I am, currently, as I write this on my computer. A few months ago a microscopic organism called the Red Brain Parasite appeared on an isolated Pacific island. It was brought back to Chicago to be researched, but the container was dropped, and the parasite escaped into the air. They sealed off the room, and that was thought to be the end of it.
It wasn't.
A few hours later 100s of people reported massive headaches and they all died within a day. But something strange happened. All the corpses in the mortuary began bleeding on their faces, and turning stone grey. Then,
They came to life.
The Red Brain Parasite is breathed into the nose and continues on to the brain. Once there it latches on and lays its eggs in it. It then it proceeds to kill the person by severing a blood vessel, causing a stroke. Then, the offspring of the parasite take over the dead body by creating their own electronic pulses, mimicing that of the brain. The offspring then lead the corpse to another live person. Once another host is found it proceeds back out the mouth to the other person and the cycle starts again. But some people are immune, and the zombies kill those people, as a natural act of defense.
I'm one of the immune.
The zombies broke out of the mortuaries and terrrorized the world. Within a  few days, all of  Chicago was infected. Now I'm in the Hospital waiting room, getting ready for my friend Francis(who is also a doctor and also immune) to pick me up and drive me home to check on my wife and get my shotgun. Tomorrow, me, my wife, and Francis are going to drive to New York, where the parasite hasn't spread yet. Wait, I see him. But... the zombies are behind him. He's yelling "GET IN! NOW!" I better go.
